Chairman’s Speech

International Management Committee (IMC) was established in January 1983 through a Pastoral Proclamation by the Founder of Celestial Church of Christ Pastor/Prophet S.B J. Oshoffa of blessed memory with a specific mission in the administration of our great church. The Pastoral Proclamation which was issued as Charter IMC/1983/1 of 23rd January 1983 described IMC as an autonomous body and whose mission is to plan and execute constructive suggestions and ideas for the progress and advancement of the world-wide organization of Celestial Church of Christ. The Charter also directed that the Founder, Pastor/Prophet S.B.J. Oshoffa shall be kept fully informed from time to time of the deliberations and suggestions by the IMC for appropriate ratification and approval.

International Management Committee has kept faith with the dictates of its charter these Thirty-Eight years. We have remained very close to all the succeeding Pastors and providing constructive pieces of advice and suggestions for the running of the administration of the church.

In addition to being a Think – Tank, Certain activities were also assigned to IMC. These activities include, but not limited to:

  1. To serve as Parochial Committee of International Headquarters Church. Ketu, Lagos until recently and that all members of the committee must attend service and officiate on the third Sunday of every month at the International Headquarters Church, Ketu and also hold their monthly meetings at the church.
  2. To arrange and execute the harvests for International Headquarters Church, Ketu and CCC Imeko Church (now Imeko Parish I).
  3. To organize and supervise the annual Christmas convocation since 1983.
  4. On Easter programmes, the committee was mandated: –
    • To handle arrangements for the washing of the feet of full-time workers and some Elders of the church and the Holy communion service by arranging for necessary publicity, logistics, stands, water storage and spiritual materials
    • Organize the Palm Sunday services including the printing of Sunday service programmes and identifying the officiating ministers
    • Arrange for Palm Sunday morning procession with brass band and a donkey.

We have consistently carried out these assignments

creditably

and to the satisfaction of the church leaders.

International Management Committee was always consulted by the successive Pastors of our church for advice on any major activity to be undertaken.

Spread of the committee

There is already a verile branch in the United Kingdom, known as IMC (UK). This outpost participates effectively in most activities of the United Kingdom Diocese. Plans are also on to establish branches in other regions of the world where Celestial Church of Christ is located.
